Memory UpgradeI do most of my work in Virtual PC images and this really pushes my laptop (Acer Travelmate 8204WLMi Core Duo 2Gb RAM). My main problem is memory as even before I start with all the services and the utilities installed by Acer almost 600Mb is used leaving not quite enough for some VPC images So I went to Crucial yesterday and ordered a 4Gb upgrade which required me to remove my two existing SODIMMS and insert the new ones. A simple enough job except the Acer hung when started. Hunted around for an explanation on the web and came across the suggestion to upgrade the BIOS which I did and now the laptop boots but only recognises 3Gb in the BIOS and in XP. Microsoft Dynamics CRM Connector for Sage Line 50The integration tool for Microsoft CRM and Sage Line 50 has been posted on the Microsoft CodePlex site at http://www.codeplex.com/crmsageconnector This is full documentation, installers and executables and source code available. SharePoint and CRMSharepoint is a very useful tool and when combined with CRM you can develop some fantastic solutions e.g., we added a picture gallery to a custom Events entity using SharePoint to hold pictures taken at events There is a great resource on CRM and SharePoint at http://sharepointsix.blogspot.com/ CRM BlogsRonald Lemmen has created the definitive list of CRM Blogs. I must really update my list on the right... Microsoft Live WriterI have been using the beta of Microsoft Live Writer to create my blog posts. I must say that it makes posting a lot quicker and easier than logging into Spaces first. Download Live Writer Beta here Postcode Lookup now on GotDotNet User SamplesThe postcode lookup code sample I posted to the now defunct Dynamics CRM Sandbox is now on the GotDotNet User Samples Page http://www.gotdotnet.com/community/usersamples/ In particular New CRM Virtual PC ImageAs you may know the existing CRM Virtual PC image supplied by Microsoft expires in a couple of weeks. A new VPC image is about to be released. More details at http://blogs.msdn.com/mscrmfreak/archive/2007/06/12/new-microsoft-dynamics-crm-vpc-update.aspx I had worried that the VPC image would be huge but it looks like it will be 7Gb and MS plans to release updates via differencing disks which I have used myself successfully to keep disk usage down. Only worry is the amount of memory required as the existing VPC image took almost all my memory so an upgrade to 4Gb is looking even more desperate. Microsoft Dynamics CRM Developer CenterThe Dynamics CRM Sandbox I blogged about below is no more! There is a new Developer Center for CRM at http://msdn2.microsoft.com/dynamics/crm and hopefully the examples I posted on the Sandbox will be available on the GotDotNet User Samples site http://www.gotdotnet.com/community/usersamples/ More on this on the Microsoft CRM Team Blog |
